কথা কয়রে দেখা দেয় না- লালন

কথা কয়রে
দেখা দেয় না।
নড়ে চড়ে হাতের কাছে
খুঁজলে জনম-ভর মেলে না।।
খুঁজি তারে আসমান-জমি,
আমারে চিনিনে আমি,
একি বিষম ভুলে ভ্রমি-
আমি কোন জন, সে কোন জনা।।
রাম কি রহিম সে কোন জন,
মাটি কি পবন জল কি হুতাশন,
শুধাইলে তার অন্বেষণ
মূর্খ দেখে কেউ বলে না।।
হাতের কাছে হয় না খবর,
কি দেখতে যাও দিল্লী লাহোর,
সিরাজসাঁই কয়, লালন রে, তোর
সদায় মনের ভ্রম যায় না।।

The one who is whispering within me
but hiding from me.
It seems He is just around me
but not able to discover when I am in search of Him.
I searched Him unto the last,
but failed to recognize me,
what a blunder-
      who am I and who is He.
Don't know who is Ram or who is Rahim,
are they soil or air, aqua or fire?
As I am ignorant,
    no one quenches  my query.
Don't even know my nearby
why am I roaming far and farther
my master says, "O my dear Lalon,
the illusion of your mind is still there."
